We often get feedback from people living in colder places, that our warm desert climate means we don’t see chilly temperatures. Not so!
Here is a picture taken by Michael Lefebvre in 2014 on Christmas day:
Michael was hiking the popular Finger Rock Trail to meet up with friends in the Pima Canyon Trail in the Catalina Mountains.
While we only see 8-10″ inches of rainfall per year in the valley, our majestic mountain foothills get plenty of snow in winter months.
What are your favorite lower elevation hikes? Or, for that matter, what is your favorite winter activity in and around Tucson? Please send us your photos and comments and we will post them here to share.
Wishing you a prosperous 2019.
